REPORT: Karlsson back in the Eastern Conference?
It wasn't too long ago that San Jose Sharks GM Mike Grier stated that he'd be listening to offers on his superstar defenseman, Erik Karlsson.
As shared by Elliotte Friedman on his 32 Thoughts Podcast recently, with the stellar debut he had this season, the talks have heated up.
"It is an extremely difficult puzzle to piece together, but I do think Florida would have interest in Erik Karlsson. Not sure how it could happen, though."
According to Friedman, Florida would be a candidate if they were able to get rid of Sergei Bobrovsky. Karlsson carries a $11.5M AAV while Bobrovsky is the goaltender that carries the highest AAV in the NHL with a $10M cap hit.
Florida's netminder has been average at best, since signing with the team and he's become a trade option since Spencer Knight's progression has gone way faster then expected.
The defensemen has also been linked to Toronto who's down 3 blueliners because of injuries. A reunion in Ottawa has also been evaluated has a possibility.
Karlsson, 32, has regained the confidence he had back in his glory days as a Norris Trophy Candidate.
