The Canucks are in the midst of a retooling and they've already traded one first-round pick along with their second-round pick.

The Hockey News shared a trade linking the Canucks and the Rangers which involved the team's lottery pick. While we don't think it makes sense to trade the pick, we did not think it made sense to trade the one from the Islanders and yet, they traded it to acquire Hronek.

The Rangers are going to be looking for a change after a disappointing first-round exit.

TWO YOUNGSTER FOR VANCOUVER

To Vancouver

- Alexis Lafreniere
- K'Andre Miller

To New York

- 2023 1st Round Selection Vancouver (Lottery Protected)
- Brock Boeser

The Canucks have tried to move Boeser and is hefty salary for quite a while now, losing the 1st Round Pick may be what hurts the most in this one.

On the other end, the Canucks would receive to NHL-ready player, while Alexis Lafreniere has yet to break out he definitely has lots to gain from being moved. The Canucks would also be adding the defensive stud they need behind Hughes. Miller is a big left-handed shot defenseman, who had an outstanding season in which he collected 43 points in 79 games. The two young men (21 & 23) are set to become RFAs over the summer which could lead to the Rangers moving them.

It's hard to think the Rangers would even consider moving Miller, even with his present contractual status, but if the Canucks were to not win the lottery and draft on the 11th seed, this is definitely a trade that needs to be considered. Lafreniere could replace Boeser, if we're lucky, his ceiling may even be higher. While moving K'Andre Miller for a non-top10 pick is definitely a steal.

If you were the Canucks' GM, is this a deal you'd consider?
