The NHL's best team just got stronger as the Boston Bruins announced they acquired:
"Defenceman Dmitry Orlov and forward Garnet Hathaway from the Washington Capitals in exchange for forward Craig Smith, a 2023 first round pick, a 2025 second round draft pick, and a 2024 third round draft pick. The Capitals will also retain 50% of Orlov's salary.
The Minnesota Wild got involved again as the third team and sent the rights to forward Andrei Svetlakov to the Bruins and retain 25% of Orlovs salary, in return the Bruins hook up the Wild with a 2023 fifth round pick." The Bruins decided to go with Orlov after the news that Jakob Chychrun won't be traded at the deadline and Orlov was a solid plan B. As for the Wild, they also helped the Toronto Maple Leafs acquire Ryan O'Reilly, jumping into that trade as the 3rd team also.
