The referees tend to be making headlines for their controversial calls, but last they switched tendencies and it's their lack of calls that are all over the internet.

In the Canucks' game in Tampa Bay, the vicious sucker punch Mikhail Sergachev threw at Conor Garland in front of the referees' eyes has made its way around the internet. If you want to have a second look at the event click right here.

It seems as if the referee didn't want to see the action going on in front of the net since another altercation happened in the game involving the Red Wings and the Maple Leafs. In the clip, Ben Chiarot comes in front of the net to box out Michael Bunting and whacks him with his stick in the face. With intent or accidental, this is still very much worthy of a call and once again the referees closed their eyes on it.

The referees have been making headlines a lot more then the usual this year and the players and coaching staffs have come out more than once to critic, but with these two events happening last night, would it be time for the NHL to intervene?
