WATCH | Scouting report: why Canucks fans should be pumped about this draft prospect
The Canucks currently hold the 8th best odds for the number one pick, but in a year where there is a lot of depth, any pick gives you something special.
While all eyes are turned in Connor Bedard's direction, another top prospect is currently dominating European rinks. Suspected to be the 3rd best prospect in the upcoming draft, Leo Carlsson, of Swede origin, is currently showing he belongs amongst the best in the SHL.
He has 25 points in 44 games and was one the best player at the most recent World Juniors. Corey Pronman of the Athletic gave his thoughts on the prospect and it's promising:
«His skill, hockey sense and compete level are all excellent. He's able to create a ton of offense in the high-percentage areas with game-breaking skill elements to boot»
He's a 6'3'' centerman that weighs in at 197 pounds and he just turned 18. A fan put up a video which highlighted what Carlsson can do:
The Canucks will have the opportunity to draft an elite-level player and they can't afford to miss. The last-time the Canucks drafted a Swede in the top10 in turned out to be a certain Elias Pettersson. If the Canucks were given the opportunity to select Carlsson, should they pull the trigger on him?
