Jon Cooper confirms the demotion of team Canada forward For Surprise Replacement
Team Canada head coach Jon Cooper has decided to make a crucial change to the team's lineup tonight as they face the United States in the 4 Nations Face-Off championship game.
For the fifth time, Canada and the United States
will meet in the final of a best-on-best international event, and if last Saturday's game was any indication, tonight's tilt is going to be an intense battle.
Team Canada makes lineup change ahead of tonight's game vs USA
Canada took to the ice for their morning skate at TD Garden in Boston on Thursday for their final preparations ahead of tonight's game and when meeting with reporters afterward, Jon Cooper announced a lineup change.
Cooper told reporters that
Seth Jarvis, who didn't play in Monday's clinching game over Finland, will draw back into the lineup, with
Travis Konecny of the Philadelphia Flyers being made a healthy scratch.
"Seth Jarvis replaces Travis Konecny for Team Canada tonight, per Jon Cooper." Chris Johnston of TSN said.
"This is probably the biggest game of my hockey career." Jarvis said.
Canada holds a 3-1 all-time record against the United States in the final of best-on-best international events, with wins coming at the 1991 Canada Cup, the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah and the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Tonight, the two teams will write another chapter in this historic rivalry and the eyes of everyone across North America will be on TD Garden for the biggest game in recent memory.
Puck drop for tonight's game between Canada and the United States is set for 5 pm PT (8 pm local) and can be viewed across the nation on Sportsnet.
