LEAFS LOOKING TO SHAKE THINGS UP
The Leafs made the moves they believed they needed to be a cup contender, but the results have yet to show. Barely over 0.500 and currently at status quo in the contract talks with their superstar Swede William Nylander, the Leafs GM Brad Treliving is reportedly getting ready to move from him.
On the Canucks' side of things, Brock Boeser's strong debut is sending a statement around the league showing that he still got his lethal scoring touch.
A DEAL THAT COULD MAKE SENS FOR THE LEAFS: NOT FOR THE CANUCKS
Adding Boeser would mean the Leafs could have another season worth of a $6.65M winger, where as Nylander will be a UFA by the end of the season and he'll be commanding a HEFTY raise.
The Canucks are already in a tough spot salary cap wise, unless Nylander signs an extension close to his AAV, there isn't even a world in which it would be logical for Allvin to consider this deal. Especially since Brock Boeser won't get that deal done in a one-on-one.
