TRADE PROPOSAL | Blockbuster three-team deal involving Erik Karlsson, Brett Pesce and Tyler Myers

Erik Karlsson is a name that's been heavily circulating in the league's most recent trade talks. The Swede recently had an outstanding season and was awarded the Norris Trophy as the league's top defenseman in 2022-2023.

Brett Pesce, on the other hand, played a crucial part in the Hurricane's most recent success. However, his deal is nearing an end, and per the recent reports, if the two parties disagreed on an extension, the Hurricanes would be shopping him as soon as July 1st.

Karlsson has made it crystal clear that he wishes to join a Cup Contender, and it appears that the race is down to the Hurricanes and the Penguins. The Canuckd, on their end, have poked around on Brett Pesce since he could very well be the defenseman the Canucks need to play alongside Quinn Hughes.

The Canucks would shed Myers and Garland's contracts, ultimately paying a 1st Rounder and Jack Rathbone to acquire Brett Pesce. 28, Pesce is an RHD who's got size and decent skills. He's on the last season of a deal worth over $24M; the expectation is that his next deal could be somewhere in the $5.5M to $6M range.

If the Canucks manage to extend Pesce, this could be a massive win for the team and would definitely switch their �retooling status' to playoff contender. A top 4 made of, Hughes-Pesce and Soucy-Hronek, combined with a healthy Thatcher Demko and the explosive offence we already have in Vancouver, the Canucks could aim to do a lot of damage.
