The NHL insider from the 4th Period, David Pagnotta, delivered an important update on the Czech forward and his soon-to-be-announced trade. Looking for an opportunity to shine under the spotlight, Necas asked for a trade, and the Hurricanes made it known that he'd be playing elsewhere next season.
Ever since that's been made official, about half the teams in the league have called, including the Canucks. According to the latest intel on the case, the Hurricanes are looking to complete a hockey trade. It was announced that the three teams still in the race to acquire Necas' services were the Nashville Predators, the Seattle Kraken and the Montreal Canadiens:
Martin Nečas has shown great potential and skill in the early stages of his career. If given a more prominent role with a new team, Nečas could significantly impact offensively and defensively. With increased ice time and responsibilities, his scoring ability, speed, and playmaking skills would likely flourish, potentially leading to a breakout season.
Additionally, his versatility allows him to play effectively in various situations, including power plays and penalty kills. Nečas's strong hockey IQ and adaptability make him a valuable asset, capable of elevating his new team's overall performance and contributing to deeper playoff runs.
As a first-round draft pick from the 2017 Draft, Necas has lived up to every expectation and then some. Fast, versatile, extremely dangerous offensively, and still very young, he fits lots of boxes for the Canucks. Should Patrik Allvin try and find a solution to get the Canucks back in the running?
