Colorado Avalanche general manager Chris MacFarland has been extremely active on the trade market as of late, and this time, he as the acquired the young and talented Juuso Parssinen from the Nashville Predators.

The Avalanche have been tested early on this season in terms of depth and personnel, but Chris MacFarland is making moves he feels can help the team win now.

Just recently, Colorado traded away young forward Nikolai Kovalenko to acquire goaltender Mackenzie Blackwood, and move the team desperately needed to make/

Despite acquiring a high potential netminder, there were other areas on the roster that needed to be addressed, and they think they found their guy.

Colorado Avalanche trade for Juuso Parssinen from the Nashville Predator

The Colorado Avalanche officially announced today that they have acquired Juuso Parssinen from the Nashville Predators, with the team only giving up a third-round pick to do so.

Combined with that pick, Colorado moved Ondrej Pavel in the deal as well, proving that they are looking to make a genuine run in 2024/25, with the belief that Parssinen can be a huge upgrade to their forward group. - Tom Banks

In 15 games this season in the NHL, the 23-year-old forward has recorded 3 goals and 2 assists for just 5 points on the disappointing Nashville Predators.

The Avalanche hope that a change of scenery is all Parssinen needs to make his blossom take off like the Predators always hoped.
