According to Larry Brooks of the New York Post, the Boston Bruins have terminated the contract of controversial defenceman Mitchell Miller.

Miller never appeared in a game for the Bruins or their AHL affiliate in Providence after signing with the organization in November 2022. The backlash regarding the signing was swift and rightfully so.

For those who don't remember, Miller was originally drafted by the Arizona Coyotes in 2020 and shortly after, it was revealed that he allegedly bullied a special needs student at his school in Ohio. A couple of weeks after the 2020 draft, the Coyotes revoked the pick, making Miller a free agent.

Larry Brooks added that Miller didn't need to be placed on unconditional waivers for termination because both him and the Bruins reached a settlement.

"per @NYP_Brooksie, the #Bruins have terminated Mitchell Miller's contract.

As his piece mentions Miller was not placed on waivers, rather both parties reached a settlement.

#CapFriendly has learned that Miller was officially removed from Boston's reserve list at end of April." CapFriendly said in a tweet.
