Why Jack Roslovic Couldn't Be Happier That Mikko Rantanen Is Gone From the Carolina Hurricanes

Carolina Hurricanes forward Jack Roslovic may be the true winner of the National Hockey League's trade deadline after the team moved Mikko Rantanen to Dallas.
Near the end of January, the Carolina Hurricanes made a big splash on the NHL's trade market,
acquiring Mikko Rantanen from the Colorado Avalanche, in a three-way deal that included the Chicago Blackhawks.
Six weeks later, with no contract extension signed with Mikko Rantanen, the Carolina Hurricanes
traded the Finnish forward to the Dallas Stars for a package that included
Logan Stankoven and two first-round picks.
Jack Roslovic benefitted in big way during Mikko Rantanen trades
When the Carolina Hurricanes acquired Mikko Rantanen, his number 96 was already occupied by fellow forward Jack Roslovic, but the former first-round pick decided he was willing to give it up and landed a pretty big gift for doing so.
According to Hurricanes reporter Walt Ruff, Jack Roslovic was given a Rolex watch, along with some other gifts by Mikko Rantanen in exchange for the number 96.
With Rantanen now a member of the Dallas Stars, Roslovic was able to change back to his old number at practice on Saturday morning and thus becoming the winner of the trade deadline.
Getting his number 96 back, a Rolex watch and other gifts for just 13 games of Mikko Rantanen being with the Carolina Hurricanes is a pretty good deal to say the least, although GM Eric Tulsky is probably still disappointed that the Finn didn't sign an extension with the club.
"Jack Roslovic is indeed back to #96 as the #Canes make their way onto the ice for practice today.
He got a Rolex and some other goodies and only had to give the number up for 14 games.
That's quite funny." Ruff said in a social media post.
In his first game with the Dallas Stars after being acquired from Carolina on Friday and signing a long-term contract extension worth $96 million USD, Mikko Rantanen registered a goal and an assist, but it wasn't enough as the Edmonton Oilers got the win by a score of 5-4.
