LATEST | Canadiens place three veterans on the trade market: Intriguing targets for the Canucks
The Montreal Canadiens currently sit 6th in the Atlantic Division at 15-13-5 and are closer to playoff contention than many initially expected prior to this season.
With several key players injured such as Alex Newhook, Kirby Dach, and Jordan Harris (returned Thursday night), many young players have been given increased opportunity with the club. However, despite their current situation, reporter David Pagnotta suggests that they could see significant interest in some key veteran players.
Pagnotta lists forwards Christian Dvorak, Sean Monahan, and defender David Savard as potentially expendable. He expects the veterans to draw interest from other clubs.
Monahan is 4th on the Habs with 20 points in 33 games, Dvorak has just seven points in 23 games since returning from injury, and Savard possesses an identical stat line to Dvorak in 11 games.
Savard, right handed shot defenceman and Stanley Cup winner, could be an intriguing asset for the Canucks. Same goes for Sean Monahan, who's demonstrated excellent two way abilities and could fit in well into the top nine.
