LATEST | Bad news for a former Vancouver Canucks fan-favourite
The Tampa Bay Lightning got their season underway on Tuesday night against the Nashville Predators, but for now, they'll be without a piece to their bottom-six forward group.
According to Lightning reporter Chris Krenn, former Vancouver Canucks fan-favourite Tyler Motte has a lower-body injury, has been placed on injured reserve and will be out indefinitely.
"#Bolts officially announce that Tyler Motte is out indefinitely with an upper-body injury." Krenn said.
Motte, 28, signed a one-year contract with the Tampa Bay Lightning less than two weeks before the start of training camp after becoming an unrestricted free agent on July 1st.
The St. Clair, Michigan native spent parts of five seasons with the Canucks between the 2017-18 and 2021-22 seasons and quickly became a favourite among the fan base because of the effort he brought to the ice every single night.
Motte is set to become an unrestricted free agent once again in July 2024. Would you like to see the Canucks try and signed Motte next summer? Let us know what you think in the poll below.
