The NHL alumni's Twitter account confirmed the announcement moments ago.
It's after 13 seasons that the former Canuck Michael Del Zotto has chosen to retire. The veteran took part in a total of 736 regular season games, 105 of them with the Canucks:
'' D Michael Del Zotto announced his retirement today.
Del Zotto played 736 regular season games with the Rangers, Flyers, Canucks, Ducks, Predators, Blues, Blue Jackets and Senators.''
The NHL alumni Twitter account issued the following statement confirming his retirement:
Del Zotto's best season came in 2011-12, back in his time with the Rangers. The Defenseman had then collected 41 points in 77 outings. Meant for greatness, the Rangers' 20th overall pick from the 2008 Draft was never able to return to this level afterwards.
