Canucks actively working the phone: Another trade is in the works?
Patrik Allvin recently struck a deal with the Montreal Canadiens that fixed specific issues for the Canucks. He resolved a problem by bringing in Casey DeSmith, a steady backup for Demko, and dumped a small portion of his salary, sending the veteran Tanner Pearson the other way.
WHAT'S THE NEXT ISSUE THAT NEEDS FIXING?
To build a playoff contender, the Canucks still have lots on their plate. From finding a steady and competent partner to Quinn Hughes to freeing up more money by moving dead cap, Allvin still has work.
On Donnie and Dhali today, it was revealed that the Canucks were still heavily working the phones with the hopes of finding a trade partner:
'' Dhaliwal said Canucks are working the phones to make a trade.''
WHO'S DONE IN VANCOUVER?
Tyler Myers and Conor Garland have been the two names linked to trade most recently, but rumblings have also suggesteding that Jack Rathbone could be headed out. With limited cap space to work with, it would be surprising to see the Canucks make an essential acquisition unless one of these contracts (Myers / Garland) we're moved.
Over the summer, Allvin did an excellent job adding depth down the middle with Pius Suter and Teddy Blueger. He said experienced defensemen in Carson Soucy, Ian Cole and Filip Hronek (via trade), but the team's defensive right side is still lacking. Could they be tempted to fix that right now?
