LATEST | A statement regarding Quinn Hughes and Cale Makar has been issued
It was a battle of the two best defencemen in the National Hockey League on Wednesday night as Quinn Hughes and the Canucks took on Cale Makar and the Colorado Avalanche.
After a three-goal third period, it was the Colorado Avalanche who walked away victorious, taking the game by a final score of 5-2.
During the game however, Hughes and Makar both put up points to reach an impressive milestone this month. Hughes had an assist, while Makar had a goal and an assist as they both reached the 20-point mark in the month of November.
In doing so, they become only the third pair of defencemen to record 20 points in a single month since 1994-95, joining Cale Makar and Miro Heiskanen (March 2023) as well as Paul Coffey and Brian Leetch (April 1995).

November 2023 is the third month since 1994-95 to feature multiple 20-point defencemen. The others: March 2023 (Cale Makar & Miro Heiskanen) and April 1995 (Paul Coffey & Brian Leetch)."
Hockey fans are certainly in for an interesting season watching Quinn Hughes and Cale Makar. As of right now, both players are certainly on track to be nominated for the Norris Trophy and it should be a fun race to watch.
