LATEST | Elias Pettersson's lack of faceoffs vs Colorado causing concern
While special teams certainly played a factor, with J.T. Miller playing center, fans were a bit concerned when Elias Pettersson didn't take his first faceoff until late in the second period.
Daniel Wagner pointed it out in a post on X, formerly Twitter, last night, mentioning that Pettersson's first faceoff of the game came with 4:35 remaining in the middle frame.
Interesting note: at 4:35 remaining in the second period, Elias Pettersson just took his first faceoff of the game. #Canucks" Daniel Wagner said.
@Taj1944 on X mentioned that, while it's not confirmed by anyone at this point, there's a theory that Pettersson's wrist is bothering him again.
"Theory that it's his wrist again is picking up steam." @Taj1944 said on X.
If that ends up being true, that would be awful news for the Vancouver Canucks given his importance to their success so far in the 2023-24 season and is one of the top points leaders in the entire National Hockey League.
We'll have to wait until Vancouver's next game, which is set for Friday night at Climate Pledge Arena against the Seattle Kraken at 7 p.m. PT/10 p.m. ET.
