LATEST | Analyst makes bold statement on Quinn Hughes: Everyone is taking notice of the chip on his shoulder
Vancouver Canucks captain Quinn Hughes is having a fantastic start to the season, offensively and defensively, with his partner Filip Hronek.
In eight games, Hughes has put up eight points (three goals, five assists), two penalty minutes and is a plus-ten. His strong play to start the 2023-24 season is catching the attention of many worldwide, including TSN analyst and former NHLer Frank Corrado.
While appearing on 'SC with Jay Onrait,' Corrado had some high praise for Quinn Hughes, saying he's in the top tier of defencemen in the National Hockey League.
"Quinn Hughes is in the top tier of defensemen in the NHL." Corrado said.
Corrado also said that Quinn Hughes deserves to be in the conversation for the Norris Trophy this season. If that's the case and Hughes earns a nomination at the end of the season, it'll be the first time in his career.
"[Quinn Hughes] deserves to be in the conversation when it comes to the Norris." Corrado said.
It will be interesting to see Quinn Hughes' production grow throughout the year. The 24-year-old set a new career-high in points with 76 during the 2022-23 campaign, and there's no doubt he'll be able to smash that this season. It's undoubtedly possible Hughes could hit the 85-point mark this year.
