Tom Willander is enjoying a fairly good start to his NCAA career with Boston University and recently in an interview with Rick Dhaliwal, his head coach Jay Pandolfo was full of praise.

Pandolfo said that he's been impressed with Willander as a person, saying he's very coachable, and his play defensively, along with his skating, have come as advertised.

"As advertised, competitive, good defensively, great skater. He is very coachable and wants to get better everyday. He has not been out-matched physically by anyone in college hockey." Pandolfo said.

For Canucks fans and management, it's great to hear these things from Willander's head coach and it shows that his development, while in the early stages, is going very well.

The 18-year-old Stockholm native has appeared in 13 games for Boston University this season so far, putting up seven points (two goals, five assists), four penalty minutes and is a plus-nine.
