LATEST | Trade concluded with the Islanders at last year's deadline: The Canucks full return finally determined
It's been nearly ten months since the Vancouver Canucks made the difficult decision to move on from former captain Bo Horvat, shipping him to the New York Islanders.
In that trade, the Canucks received forward Anthony Beauvillier, top prospect Aatu Raty, as well as a 2023 first-round pick.
After the Canucks dealt Anthony Beauvillier to the Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday night in exchange for a fifth-round pick, the only piece remaining from that Horvat trade is Aatu Raty, who is currently playing down in the American Hockey League for Abbotsford.
However, the best asset from that trade was not Beauvillier or Raty, as Allvin used the first rounder they received from the Islanders to acquire Filip Hronek from the Detroit Red Wings. With how Hronek has played so far this season, there's no doubt Canucks fans are pleased with the asset management Allvin has done in trades in 2023.
