LATEST | Brock Boeser opens up about being in trade rumours last season
Having your name mentioned in trade rumours is something that happens to nearly every player in the National Hockey League at some point over the course of their career.
For Vancouver Canucks forward Brock Boeser, he's no stranger to dealing with those rumours, especially last season, and saw his name pop up again over the summer, but the team didn't move him, which was a great decision given how he's played so far in 2023-24.
After the Canucks' win over the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday night, Boeser was the guest on 'After Hours' with Scott Oke and Dave Tomlinson and was asked about those trade rumours.
"You know, even in the summer, I was happy I never got traded. I think everything happens for a reason. I love Vancouver, I've made that known and I love the fans, the community and my teammates. I'm really happy that I'm still here." Boeser said.
It's always great to here a player express how happy they are in their specific market and not wanting to be traded, so for Canucks fans to hear these words come out of Brock Boeser's mouth, it must feel like a big relief.
So far this season, Boeser has played outstanding and as we approach the two-month mark of the 2023-24 campaign, he currently sits tied for second in the entire National Hockey League in goals with 18 and will no doubt smash his previous career high of 29 he set during his rookie season in 2017-18.
