LATEST | The Frontrunners to acquire Ethan Bear identified
The Canucks opted not to re-sign the defenceman Ethan Bear after he got badly injured at the World Championships. While they stayed in touch in hopes of re-signing him once he'd be healthy, the tides have turned and they're no longer the front runners.
ON THE VERGE OF INKING A NEW DEAL?
Bear has been skating in B.C. for the last little while and his agent arranged for a few GMs to come out and watch him skate as he gets closer to a return.
Elliotte Friedman addressed the top free agent's case on Hockey Night in Canada last night and revealed that the Washington Capitals had made a solid run at the defenceman and while nothing was official yet an announcement could be coming soon:
'Friedman at the intermission says Capitals could sign Ethan Bear soon, nothing official, but they've made a run at him.''
Rick Dhaliwal talked about the situation and despite not winning the Ethan Bear derby, the Canucks are still all over the place to try and find a right handed shot defenceman. We'll have to wait and see what move Allvin pulls out of his bag.
