The Vancouver Canucks were among the teams who decided to use the waiver wire on Thursday, which marked the first day it was open for the 2023-24 season.

Patrik Allvin placed goaltender Spencer Martin on waivers for the intention of assigning him to the American Hockey League's Abbotsford Canucks, but according to TSN's Darren Dreger, he won't be with the organization for much longer.

"Seems unlikely Spencer Martin clears waivers. We will know shortly. Obviously, Tampa Bay has a need, but I'm also looking at Columbus as a likely landing spot." Dreger said.

And now it's been confirmed that Spencer Martin's time with the Vancouver Canucks has come to an end. According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, Martin has been claimed off waivers by the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Martin, 28, appeared in 29 games for the Canucks last season where he tallied 11-15-1 with a 3.99 goals against average and an .871 save percentage.

Best of luck to Spencer Martin with his new team and thank you for your contributions to the Canucks organization!
