With numerous possibilities on who might slot in where, Chris Faber of Canucks Army shared what he thinks the defensive pairings may look like on opening night, IF Tyler Myers has his bonus paid by September 15th and he's traded.
In his recent mailbag article on Canucks Army, Faber shared the following three defensive pairings:
First pairing: Quinn Hughes and Ian Cole.
Second pairing: Carson Soucy and Filip Hronek.
Third pairing: Christian Wolanin and Noah Juulsen.
While this is just Faber's predictions for what the defensive pairs may look like, it's entirely possible that they'll be different.
There's no doubt that Hughes, Cole, Soucy and Hronek will be the team's top four; it's just a matter of who's put with whom. As for the third pairing of Wolainan and Juulsen, both have a good chance at making the Canucks' opening night roster out of training camp, but one name not to count out is Guillaume Brisebois. Brisebois appeared in 17 games for the Canucks last season and played well at times, so he'll also get a long look at training camp.
