LATEST | Canucks waive Spencer Martin: seven other players, including a former first-rounder
The waiver wire became active on Thursday afternoon as we're officially 12 days away from the start of the 2023-24 season.
A total of seven players, including Vancouver Canucks goaltender Spencer Martin and former first-round pick Ty Smith, were placed on waivers this afternoon.
Callahan Burke (Colorado)
Taylor Fedun (Pittsburgh)
Jonathan Gruden (Pittsburgh)
Xavier Ouellet (Pittsburgh)
Rem Pitlick (Pittsburgh)
Ty Smith (Pittsburgh)
Spencer Martin (Vancouver)
All seven players will be available to teams around the NHL for the next 24 hours, with the waiver order being determined by last season's standings in reverse. This means that the Anaheim Ducks have the first chance at placing a claim on any of these players.
If any players in the list above clear waivers on tomorrow afternoon, they'll be assigned to their respective team's American Hockey League affiliate.
