A pair of Stanley Cup contenders in the Eastern Conference have been linked to Vancouver Canucks forward Brock Boeser with less than two weeks until the deadline.
With the trade deadline quickly approaching for the 2024-25 season, a report earlier this month report earlier this month suggests that teams around the league are anticipating that Brock Boeser will be made available by the Vancouver Canucks and it looks like that could be the case after all.
Two Stanley Cup contenders in Eastern Conference linked to Brock Boeser
Brock Boeser is set to become an unrestricted free agent on Canada Day (July 1st) and contract talks between his camp and the Vancouver Canucks have reportedly been non-existent, which could lead to a deal before March 7th.
Boeser is coming off a career-year in 2023-24 where he registered 40 goals and 73 points in the regular season and 12 points in 12 Stanley Cup Playoff games.
While his production may be down this season, Boeser can still be an important piece to contending teams around the National Hockey League that are looking for a goal scorer that can play in the top-six and on the powerplay.
In their most recent trade watch list, The Fourth Period have linked Brock Boeser to four teams, including a pair of contenders in the Eastern Conference - Tampa Bay Lightning and Toronto Maple Leafs.
"The Canucks and Boeser are not close to an extension. Vancouver wants mid-term, Boeser wants long-term, and the dollars are apart, as well. The Canucks could hold on to him for their playoff run, or if the offer's too good to pass up, move him out if they feel they can't sign him. He's a UFA this summer.
Teams Reportedly Linked: Minnesota, Toronto, Los Angeles, Tampa Bay" The Fourth Period said.
All four of the teams named by The Fourth Period, including Minnesota and Los Angeles, would be good fits for Brock Boeser as a rental option.
Tampa Bay is second in the National Hockey League in goals for (197) as of Saturday morning, but it could never hurt to add some more depth and according to PuckPedia, they'll have $5.1 million available in cap space at the trade deadline.
As for the Toronto Maple Leafs, there's no question they'd like to add an offensive punch to their middle six, and he'd be a much better option right now than Max Domi or Nick Robertson.
However, the only issue for the Maple Leafs right now is that they don't have any cap space available and at the deadline, PuckPedia is projecting Brad Treliving will only have $2.2 million to work with.
The National Hockey League's trade deadline is set for 12 pm PT on Friday, March 7th and Canucks Daily will have full coverage leading up to then with any deals and rumors regarding the Vancouver Canucks.
