Elias Pettersson was already in an excellent position to cash in before the season started, but with his electric season debut, things are only getting better. It caused a stir when Pettey broke the news that he'd be putting the contract talks on hold, but it's safe to assume that the Canucks' oustanding play through the first couple of games have reassured him about the future.

CONTRACT TALKS PICKING UP?

Allvin had an interview with the Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli and revealed that the Canucks were still very much trying to get him under contract and that the talks hadn't ceased:

''I've had conversations with [Pettersson's agent] Pat Brisson and I met with his Swedish agent a couple weeks ago when he was in town. We're continuing to talk there and see where things go. Hopefully we'll get it done sooner rather than later.''

On pace for back-to-back 100 points season, as one of the best two-way player in the game. There a no comparison to what Pettersson may ask on his next deal, especially with the Salary Cap coming up this summer.
