LATEST | Important development regarding one of the Canucks' prospect and his future in Vancouver
Back in 2019, everybody thought the Canucks made a steal when they acquired Linus Karlsson for Jonathan Dahlen.
Dahlen went on to play 59 AHL games and 62 NHL games before he went back to Sweden. Karlsson for his part was granted his first NHL opportunity a few weeks ago and the way he's been dominanting in the AHL is a strong indicator that he's ready for the next step.
Karlsson managed 24 goals and 49 points in 72 games last season, he came back as strong this year with 15 through his first 17 games. After his second game in the big leagues on Sunday, Satiar Shah dropped a very concerning piece of information regarding Karlsson's future with the Canucks and perhaps in the NHL:
'If the Canucks don't use Linus Karlsson or trade him by next year, I doubt he's back in Canada next year. He's going to Sweden then''
Karlsson has yet to show that he deserves to be an NHLer full-time and with the Canucks' load of wingers there may never be a spot for him. If he plans on leaving, is it time the Canucks consider showcasing him as a trade bait?
