LATEST | Jack Hughes makes bold statement on his brother's captaincy
The Canucks took a leap of faith and named the young Quinn Hughes, their nee captain. Viewed to be the logical choice, Hughes came to Vancouver having learned his fair share about leadership and the pressure that comes with it.
The eldest of his brothers, the Hughes' grew up in the Greater Toronto Area where hockey, like in Vancouver, is considered a religion. In his youth, the Canucks first rounder in 2018 developed everything he needed to be an excellent NHL captain.
Quinn and his brother Jack were both off to Vegas during the NHL/NHLPA player media tour and delivered a bold statement about his brother's tenure with the Canucks and what the future held for him:
"Probably the pillar of that organization. He's going to be a great captain."
Jack Hughes had a breakout season in 2022-2023, and he's gotten a better look at what a team needs to make it to the top. It's evident he's very fond of his brother, and if Quinn has that same aura over his teammates in Vancouver, the future looks brighter.
