LATEST | NHL makes statement regarding trio of Vancouver Canucks forwards
After a long travel day on Sunday, the Vancouver Canucks took on the Columbus Blue Jackets on Monday as they wrapped up a seven-game road trip.
Early in the first period, the Canucks took a 1-0 lead thanks to J.T. Miller, who scored his 20th goal of the season, joining Brock Boeser and Elias Pettersson who also have reached the milestone this season.
After Miller opened the scoring, the National Hockey League's Public Relations account on X, formerly Twitter, made a post saying that the 2023-24 season is the second time in franchise history that the Canucks have had three 20-goal scorers in 44 games or fewer.
The only other time that's happened in Canucks history was during the 1992-93 season when Pavel Bure, Greg Adams and Petr Nedved all had 20 goals or more in the same amount of games.
"2023-24 (Brock Boeser, Elias Pettersson & J.T. Miller) is just the second in
@Canucks history to feature three 20-goal scorers in 44 games of a season or fewer. The other: 1992-93 (Pavel Bure: 40, Greg Adams: 23 & Petr Nedved: 23)."
At the time of writing this, Elias Pettersson has also scored in Monday's game, which is his 23rd of the season, while Brock Boeser had 27 goals coming into today's contest against the Blue Jackets.
