LATEST | Patrik Allvin could land an intriguing right-handed defenceman for free
Elliotte Friedman announced that the Boston Bruins had placed right-handed shot Ian Mitchell on waivers.
Mitchell is a 24-year-old defenseman who has had some NHL experience. The Blackhawk's second-round pick in 2017 has played 84 games through his first four pro seasons, including this season.
The Canadian defenseman earned his spot on a solid Boston Defensive core with a strong camp. He couldn't maintain his place in the line-up; his great puck-moving ability and solid defensive play could be attractive to any team.
The Canucks are a team in search of a Right-handed defenseman, and Mitchell could fit well with the team; his contract is very affordable as he has a 1-year deal worth $775,000, and fills the needs of the team.
The Canucks GM, Patrik Allvin, and his team must decide if they want Mitchell as his waiver timeline moves along.
