The Vancouver Canucks are off to a solid start to the 2023-24 season, and after wrapping up their five-game road trip in Nashville on Tuesday, the team sits at 4-2-0 through six games, which has them second place in the Pacific Division.

Overall, the Canucks are getting plenty of contributions throughout their lineup, including from forward Phil Di Giuseppe, who has four points in six games, while playing with Brock Boeser and J.T. Miller.

With his more significant role, Di Giuseppe has shown the Canucks management group and coaching staff that he belongs in the National Hockey League full-time and can play in the top six. After bouncing between Vancouver and Abbotsford last season, Di Giuseppe is doing all he can to stick with the big club for the entire year.

In a poll on their X account, Sekeres and Price posed an interesting question to their fans, asking if they think Phil Di Giuseppe is reminding them of former Canuck Alex Burrows.

Looking more into it, Di Giuseppe plays a similar style to Alex Burrows throughout his career in the National Hockey League. While Di Giuseppe doesn't go as far as being a pest like Burrows was, he isn't afraid to get into the dirty areas and work hard for the puck, throwing his body around here and there, as Burrows did.

Even if the 30-year-old Di Giuseppe doesn't end up being like Alex Burrows, which some fans aren't convinced by, according to Sekeres and Price's poll, he still holds plenty of value in the Canucks' lineup and can play effectively wherever Rick Tocchet and the coaching staff decides to deploy him.
