We're officially passed the two month mark of the 2023-24 season and it's interesting to take a look around the league to see if there are any surprises either team-wise or individually.

While the Canucks have surprised many around the league, it's a former Vancouver prospect who's the talk of hockey right now, that being Michael Carcone of the Arizona Coyotes.

After putting up 85 points in 65 games in the American Hockey League last season, Carcone made the Coyotes' opening night roster and it looks like the team made the right decision as he is currently their leader in goals with 14 in 26 games.

Not only if Carcone leading the Arizona Coyotes in goals, the 27-year-old has more goals than some of hockey's best players including Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl and Nathan MacKinnon, among others.

"Michael Carcone (#Yotes) has more goals than:

> Alex DeBrincat
> William Nylander
> Mikko Rantanen
> Brayden Point
> Jared McCann
> Leon Draisaitl
> Connor McDavid
> Nathan MacKinnon
> Joe Pavelski
> Elias Pettersson"

The Ajax, Ontario native joined the Canucks organization in 2016, signing a three-year, entry-level contract as an undrafted free agent out of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

Carcone would go on to spend parts of three seasons in the Canucks organization with their AHL affiliate at the time, the Utica Comets, before being traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs for Josh Leivo.
