The Vancouver Canucks might be 7-1-1 in their last nine games, but head coach Rick Tocchet wants the team to focus on the process rather than the results.

In an interview with The Province, Tocchet said he doesn't believe the Canucks' process has been very good and that they have slipped, but knows they can improve.

"I think our process hasn't been as great. I know the record says it's good. But I think our process sometimes has slipped: Our play without the puck, egregious mistakes, things that we can't let creep up," Tocchet said.

Tocchet's comments come after a 4-1 loss at home to the Philadelphia Flyers, who are coached by former Canucks bench boss John Tortorella. In that game, the Canucks didn't look good and while that could be attributed to them coming off of the holiday break and not playing in five days, it's not an excuse and they need to be better on Tuesday, as everyone knows they can be.

The Canucks will return to action on Tueday night at Rogers Arena as they host the Ottawa Senators at 7 p.m. PT/10 p.m. ET on Sportsnet Pacific.
