The Canucks tightly disputed last night's game with the Kraken but ultimately fell short and lost 2-1.
With moments left in the game, Rick Tocchet pulled the netminder, but the team was then issued an unsportsmanlike penalty that came out of nowhere:

'A bench minor for unsportsmanlike conduct out of nowhere? What kind of clown officials did they hire for this game?'' #Canucks

THE HEAD COACH OPENS UP

Amid consternation, the Head Coach took the stage at the end of the game to address the media and revealed where that penalty came from. During the game's last moments, the Kraken's Brandon Tanev threw a hit that Tocchet considered to be assault, and he lost it on the official, which led to the penalty:

'Head Coach Rick Tocchet meets with the media following the game against the Kraken in Abbotsford.''

While it's nice to see that Tocchet takes his player's safety to heart, the fact that he lost his cool, however probably cost the game. The Canucks were meant to have an offensive zone face-off while they had the momentum.

Tocchet promised that this would never happen again, and we'll take his word for it. The Canucks will be playing one last pre-season game on Friday when the Flames come for a visit.
