The Vancouver Canucks continued their winning ways on Monday night as they shut out the Chicago Blackhawks by a score of 2-0 at Rogers Arena.

It was a solid game by Canucks goaltender Thatcher Demko who stopped all 31 shots he faced for his fifth shutout of the season in only 34 appearances. He now sits tied for first in the NHL with Arizona's Connor Ingram and Pittsburgh's Tristen Jarry with five shutouts.

On Tuesday morning, Sportsnet Stats made an eye opening post on their social media which puts Demko's strong season into perspective. With five shutouts this season, Demko has more than he had in his first six seasons in the National Hockey League, which was three.

"#Canucks Thatcher Demko Career Shutouts:

First 6 Seasons - 168 GP & 3 Shutouts

This Season - 34 GP & 5 Shutouts"

Demko, 28, has been one of the biggest reasons for the Vancouver Canucks' success so far this season. In 34 games, he has a record of 25-8-1 with a 2.40 goals against average, a .922 save percentage and five shutouts, as mentioned.

With his strong season thus far, there's no doubt that Demko will be in the Vezina Trophy conversation when all is said and done, but he'll certainly have some competition with the likes of Connor Hellebuyck, Jeremy Swayman, among others.
