LATEST | Tocchet absolutely scorches the players in his post game interview
The Canucks had an early meeting with the Philadelphia Flyers this afternoon, and it appears that afternoon games aren't for them. The team failed to perform up to the expectations against the Flyers, and Tocchet made no mistake in reminding them.
THE HEAD COACH WAS PISSED OFF
Known to be a passionate guy, Tocchet went straight to the point in his post-game interview. Apart from Thatcher Demko's stellar 40-save performance, Tocchet couldn't single out a player who he thought played well:
"I can't even pick one guy that played well except Demko; he was unreal. [] We've got some guys, and *sigh* they've got to pick it up. [] I don't like to use the word soft, but I didn't see guys competing at all, and that's alarming."
Tocchet referred to this game as one of that night where nothing goes right, but he repeatedly stated that the Canucks' efforts and competition level were atrocious.
The Canucks will be back on the ice for practice tomorrow, and Tocchet will be back to the drawing boards in hopes of reigniting the flame ahead of their game against the Lightning on Thursday.
