It's not a secret anymore the Canucks have been trying to find a new home for their speedy winger Conor Garland. The tight salary cap has made moving his important $4.95M difficult, and today, the forward made a significant change.

GARLAND ON HIS WAY OUT?

Earlier today, the news broke that Garland had switched agents, which could've seemed insignificant. However, the latest updates suggest otherwise.

'' Conor Garland #Canucks has switched agents and is now represented by Judd Moldaver

He has three years remaining at a $4.95M cap hit. ''

The Hockey insider Eliotte Friedman first broke the news that Garland and his new agent had asked the Canucks for permission to talk to other teams to facilitate a trade:

''There is word this afternoon that Vancouver has granted Conor Garland permission to talk to other teams about a potential trade. Tight cap situation, see if there's a better fit around the NHL.''

The Canucks have been trying to trade Garland away for about a year, but now everything regarding the Canucks' number 8 is heating up. The latest development suggested that the Canucks would even be keen to retain parts of his salary on the remainder of a contract. Will they be having?
