There's been lots of talks regarding the former Canuck defenceman Ethan Bear. Especially now that we're only weeks, perhaps days away from his return from injury.

A restricted free agent who had been declared as part of the team's future, got badly injured during the World Championships. Things went south from there between the Canucks and Bear's party, but now that he's about to return things have begun to move.

ETHAN BEAR'S NEXT DESTINATION SOON TO BE KNOWN?

Everything points toward the fact that the bidding as already started. The Canucks have made it known that they intended on pursuing help for their defensive right side and they'd been continuously in touch with Bear's agent.

Elliotte Friedman was on Donnie and Dhali today and addressed the subject. Per his saying, Vancouver is at the top of Bear's list and possibly the team to beat, here's what he had to say:

''Lots of teams have reached out, Vancouver is high on his list, the Canucks are probably the team to beat.''

SALARY CAP: NOT AN ISSUE WITH BEAR

When Dhaliwal spoke about the Canucks interest regarding Tyson Barrie, he reiterated that they'd be unable to fit his cap hit and have the team compliant. He added however, that it wouldn't be an issue with the team's former 74. Which most likely indicates a 1-year-deal, close to league minimum. Would possibly lead to the end of Tyler Myers in Vancouver or that Carson Soucy won't be playing again this year.

How would that defensive core look like:

Hughes - Hronek
Cole - Bear
Zadorov - Soucy/Myers
