MAJOR | Jonathan Lekkerimaki receives highest of honours after he showed his dominance
Canucks prospect Jonathan Lekkerimäki has been named the MVP of the World Junior Championship.
The 15th overall pick from 2022 led the hosts Sweden to a silver medal with 10 points, including 7 goals.
Lekkerimäki and Sweden were trampled by Team USA in the gold medal game, but the Swedish winger was a force all tournament, adding a power play goal in the loss.
Lekkerimäki finished in 4th in total points in the tournament and tied for 1st with USA's Isaac Howard -who scored two on Thursday- for goals.
He will return to finish out his season in Sweden with Orebro before challenging for a roster spot with Vancouver next season.
