Canucks GM Patrik Allvin Takes Serious Shot at Elias Pettersson - Confirms Trade is Not Off the Table..

It is clear that Vancouver Canucks general manager Patrik Allvin is sick and tired with how the Canucks are playing this season, and in a recent interview with Sportsnet, he did not hold anything back on how he feels about certain players and coaches.
With the Canucks collapsing to the Seattle Kraken a few days ago, Vancouver is just one more loss away from falling out of a playoff spot, and Allvin felt the need to take his shot at the media and call out all the issues he is seeing, even saying certain trades are very real possibilities.
Allvin sat down with Sportsnet's Iain MacIntyre, and his comments about the entire team has sparked major drama once again in Vancouver, but his remarks about Elias Pettersson seemed to be the most extreme.
«It comes back to expectations and preparation, how you prepare yourself. I don't believe that he was aware of just how hard it was going to be. Just because you achieve one thing to get a long-term extension life just gets harder. You haven't really accomplished anything. You're not even halfway there (to winning a Stanley Cup). And then obviously the mental part comes in there, too, and suddenly you feel the pressure,» Allvin said.
He went on to say that he obviously still believes in Pettersson and his ability to get to the next level, but he acknowledges that he feels EP40 is not handling the pressure and issues of the season as well as he should.
«Petey has shown up to this point that he is an extremely talented, quality player that could and should be a No. 1 centre. I believe in him. I believe that he's capable. (But) he needs to mature and understand that there are certain expectations and it does not get easier. And you need to face the music when things don't go well.
Maybe the most shocking and controversial aspect of the interview came when he was asked about a potential trade involving Pettersson.
Allvin (smiling): «Well, you know Jim's history. Is it (a trade) possible? I guess I would say anything is possible.»
The Vancouver Canucks have become basically a soap opera this season, there has been so much drama, trade rumors and comments made that have caused so much instability within the organization.
There were other shots taken at Rick Tocchet,
Brock Boeser and
J.T. Miller, but he seemed to have eyes for making it known that Elias Pettersson needs to makes changes, unless changes will be made for him.
