Vancouver Canucks rookie forward Aatu Raty is setting himself up for a solid payday this summer as he's set to become a restricted free agent on Canada Day at 9 am PT.

A couple weeks ago, the Vancouver Canucks called up Aatu Raty under emergency conditions following injuries to Elias Pettersson and Nils Hoglander.
Since being brought up to Vancouver on March 23rd, Raty has played quite well and is proving that he might be ready to be an NHLer on a full-time basis going forward.

In seven games during his current stint with the Vancouver Canucks, Raty has registered four goals including two against the Columbus Blue Jackets on March 28th.
Last night, Raty found the back of the net for his sixth of the season, which brought Vancouver level with the Vegas Golden Knights at 2-2 in the second period.
With his goal on Sunday, Aatu Raty has tied forward Dakota Joshua for six this season in 24 less games and is one behind Nils Hoglander, who's appeared 67 games this year and has seen a sharp decline in the goal scoring department after having 24 during the 2023-24 campaign.
"Aatu Raty has the same number of goals as Dakota Joshua this season.

Raty is just one goal behind Nils Hoglander.

The 22-year-old has played just 28 games this year." Noah Strang of Daily Hive said on X.
Along with his recent hot streak in the NHL, the Oulu, Finland native has been on a tear in the American Hockey League this season with Abbotsford, putting up 39 points (17 goals, 22 assists) in 41 games.
According to PuckPedia, Aatu Raty has a qualifying offer of $840,000 this summer and while the Canucks will undoubtedly issue him once if he's not signed before July 1st, he won't be settling for that and it wouldn't be a shock if his next AAV comes in around $1.75-1.8 million.

Do you think $1.5-1.75 million AAV is fair value on Aatu Raty's next contract?
