Canucks thank season ticket holders by giving them a unique gift
The Vancouver Canucks thanked their season ticket holders by giving them a very unique gift.
Last season was a special one for the Vancouver Canucks and their fans. The Canucks won their third-most games in a single season in franchise history with 50, which earned them the title of Pacific Division champions.
Ultimately, the Canucks made it to the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs and were one win away from their first Western Conference Final since 2011 before they fell to the Edmonton Oilers in Game 7.
Coming into the season, no one expected the Canucks to be Pacific Division champions or even win a round in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, so what they accomplished in 2023-24 was above and beyond what many thought they'd achieve.
At the end of every season, teams around the National Hockey League usually send out gifts to their season ticket holders thanking them for their support during the year and on Monday, a Canucks STH shared what the team sent them and it's safe to say this is as unique of a present as anyone could receive.
X user @ 555IntoOvertime shared in a post that the Vancouver Canucks sent them a hockey stick blade made from the plexiglass at Rogers Arena, with the team's logo etched inside.
"So, this came the other day, which is my Season Ticket Member Gift from the #Canucks
The card is maybe tough to read in this photo, but it essentially says it's an etching made from the rink's plexiglass.
Not sure to do with it, but pretty cool, I think. 😎"
On the other side of the box that the stick blade came in, there was a message from the Vancouver Canucks, thanking the season ticket holders for their support and passion they brought during the 2023-24 campaign. They also shared that the stick blade, which was made out of the plexiglass at Rogers Arena, as mentioned, was the same as the ones used during several playoff runs, as well as the 2010 Winter Olympics, where Sidney Crosby scored the Golden Goal.
"You scream. You cheer. You pound on the glass.
Your enthusiastic support behind the boards is what drives this team. As a Season Ticket Member, we know how much this team means to you, so we want to thank you with a piece of Rogers Arena - literally.
Custom-made from our arena plexiglass, this one-of-a-kind hockey stick has seen crushing hits, epic goal celebrations, unforgettable playoff runs and even the Golden Goal from the 2010 Olympics.
The passion from the Canucks fan base is simply incredible and something we will never take for granted. We hope you have enjoyed the 2023-24 Canucks Season and we look forward to building new memories with you on both sides of the glass. To the team in the stands, thank you for your continued support of the Vancouver Canucks.
Your Membership Team."
This is a really impressive gift from the Vancouver Canucks to their season ticket holders and something that all of them will cherish for a very long time and it'll remind them of the special season the team had from opening night against the Edmonton Oilers on October 11th right up until their elimination, also against the Oilers, in Game 7 of the second round on May 20th.
