As the National Hockey League's trade deadline for the 2024-25 season gets closer and closer, the Vancouver Canucks could still be one of the busier teams, even after making two big deals on Friday.

Vancouver Canucks forward Brock Boeser is set to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1st last week, it was reported that teams around the league reportedly expect him to be available before the deadline in early March.

New Jersey Devils could enter the mix to land Brock Boeser

As of Sunday morning, the New Jersey Devils sit 11th in the National Hockey League in goals for with 164 in 53 games, but are still on the look out for a scorer ahead of the deadline.
While it's still unclear if the Vancouver Canucks will shop him or try hard to extend him, James Nichols of New Jersey Hockey Now suggests that the Devils should pursue a trade for Brock Boeser as he'd give the team a big offensive boost.
"If the Canucks are selling, the New Jersey Devils should be buying. Boeser's just the shooter that they need." Nichols said.

He added, "However, although Boeser isn't a one-trick pony, it's clear that his greatest strength is his ability to shoot the puck.

The Devils-who are in need of scoring-should be all over an NHL trade involving the Canucks and Boeser."

If the Vancouver Canucks are unable to get a contract extension done with Brock Boeser, then they should definitely see what they could get for him on the trade market.
Boeser is coming off a career-year in 2023-24 where he had 40 goals and 73 points in the regular season, along with 12 points in 12 Stanley Cup Playoff games, before a blood clot shut him down for Game 7 against the Edmonton Oilers.
The 27-year-old is second on the Canucks this season in goals with 16 in 44 games and could fetch Patrik Allvin a pretty nice return at the trade deadline, with the price for rentals (Pettersson to Vancouver & Granlund to Dallas) being a 2025 first-round pick.
