With just 33 days to go until the NHL's trade deadline, the Vancouver Canucks will remain active, but there appears to be a good chance that their biggest moves are now behind them.

Less than a month after a report came out from Elliotte Friedman that said the Vancouver Canucks were testing the market for Elias Pettersson and J.T. Miller, GM Patrik Allvin dealt the latter to the New York Rangers.

Vancouver Canucks' Elias Pettersson reportedly no longer on the trade block

The rift between J.T. Miller and Elias Pettersson took its toll on the organization, which led to Friday's trade and while the Canucks were exploring the possibility that both players could be moved, it looks like the Swede will be sticking around, for now.
According to Thomas Drance of The Athletic, Vancouver Canucks forward Elias Pettersson is no longer on the trade block.
"That said, the decision has been made. Miller is a New York Rangers player again, and the Canucks will move on with Pettersson. Obviously, it's that time of year when things can change with one phone call, but Pettersson shouldn't be expected to move before the NHL trade deadline at this point." Drance said.

Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman also mentioned on the Saturday Headlines segment of Hockey Night in Canada that this will now cool the rumors around Elias Pettersson.
"Other things to deal with in the aftermath of this. Number one, the noise around Pettersson can calm down too. I think the Canucks are determined to see how it goes for him now. I don't think they want any noise around him, they just want him to play and see if this helps settle him down." Friedman said.
It's been a tough time for Elias Pettersson, dating back to February 1st, 2024, as in the last year, including the Stanley Cup Playoffs, he's only scored 19 goals, which isn't good enough for someone in a role that the Swedish forward plays, along with the salary he's earning.
However, now that this rift with J.T. Miller is behind them, hopefully for Pettersson and the Canucks' sake, he'll be able to turn things around and perform as expected down the stretch and into the Stanley Cup Playoffs, if Vancouver qualifies.
In 45 games this season, the Sundsvall, Sweden native has 33 points (11 goals, 22 assists), 12 penalty minutes and is a minus-five.
