The Vancouver Canucks will have some fresh faces in their lineup when they take on the Detroit Red Wings on tonight.

After a flurry of trade activity on Friday, the Canucks introduced four new players-Marcus Pettersson, Filip Chytil, Drew O'Connor, and Victor Mancini-all of whom hit the ice for the morning skate. Adding to the changes, Kiefer Sherwood is set to return after missing the last week with an injury.
Meanwhile, the Red Wings come into this game on the second half of a back-to-back after securing a 3-1 victory over the Calgary Flames on Saturday night.
Detroit is riding a five-game winning streak and currently sits just one point out of a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
However, fatigue could be a factor, as the Canucks have had the luxury of rest while the Red Wings battle travel and quick turnarounds.
Sherwood last played on January 23, exiting against the Edmonton Oilers due to injury. Though he missed three consecutive wins, he kept a close eye on his team's performance and is eager to get back into action.
«I've been skating almost daily. It feels good. I'm just eager Green light, I'm ready, just champing at the bit,»

Sherwood said. His presence adds another layer of physicality-he still leads the NHL in hits-and his energy should help counter any early push from a Detroit team looking to maintain momentum.
With head coach Rick Tocchet confirming that three of the four new additions will play, the Canucks' lineup remains a bit of a puzzle. Marcus Pettersson, Filip Chytil, and Drew O'Connor are all expected to suit up, while Victor Mancini's status will be a game-time decision.
One key concern is Quinn Hughes, who was visibly in discomfort on Friday. If he plays, Carson Soucy may shift to the right side. If Hughes sits, Mancini could make his Canucks debut.
Kevin Lankinen will get the start for the Canucks after Thatcher Demko played the last two games. The Canucks need Demko to find consistency, but for now, Lankinen gets the nod.
Despite being on a back-to-back, the Red Wings have been red-hot,
Detroit also got a major boost with Patrick Kane being activated from Injured Reserve-potentially making his return against Vancouver.
With the Canucks rested and eager to integrate new talent, they'll look to take advantage of a travel-weary Red Wings squad.
