Former Vancouver Canucks forward J.T. Miller is enjoying plenty of success with the Rangers and a statistic shows how much better he's been than Elias Pettersson.

After weeks of rumors about a rift between J.T. Miller and Elias Pettersson, Patrik Allvin pulled the trigger on a deal with the New York Rangers that saw the Canucks acquire Filip Chytil, prospect Victor Mancini and a first round pick that was flipped in a deal to land Marcus Pettersson.

Statistic opens eyes on how much better J.T. Miller has been than Elias Pettersson since trade

After Patrik Allvin dealt J.T. Miller, Elias Pettersson told reporters that he wanted the pressure and that it was up to him to take it, but so far his actions haven't matched his words.
"Honestly, I want that pressure," said Pettersson. "And it's up to me to take it."

Since the calendar flipped to 2025, Elias Pettersson has just one goal and six assists in 20 games, with his lone tally coming back on January 21st in a loss to the Buffalo Sabres.
During Sunday's win over Nashville, former Vancouver Canucks forward J.T. Miller picked up a goal and an assist to give him 12 points in ten games since being acquired by the New York Rangers.
In that same time frame, since the January 31st trade, Elias Pettersson has just two assists and eight shots on goal.
"This one hurts to tweet:

J.T. Miller has more points (12) than Elias Pettersson does shots (8) since the Miller trade. 😖 #Canucks" Grady Sas said in a post on X.
There's no doubt Vancouver Canucks fans are getting tired of hearing about Elias Pettersson's struggles on a daily basis, especially when J.T. Miller, who he had a rumored feud with, is performing very well for his new club night in, night out.
But it's up to Elias Pettersson at this point to turn things around and start producing at a level that an $11.6 million player should be and that's above a point-per-game, especially when considering he's the fifth-highest paid player in the National Hockey League.
If Elias Pettersson is able to prove that he can be that guy and down the stretch here produce at least a point-per-game, then some of the heat he's dealing with should cool off heading into the summer.
