Familiar broadcast crew to call Canucks series against Nashville
The Stanley Cup Playoffs are nearly 24 hours away, but for Canucks fans, they'll have to wait until Sunday night to see their team in action. On Friday, those fans were given a nice surprise when the broadcast crews for each series were revealed.
In a post on their public relations account, Sportsnet shared that John Shorthouse and Dave Tomlinson will have the call of Vancouver's first round series against the Nashville Predators, while Dan Murphy will serve as the reporter.
According to @jabo_vancouver, this will mark the first time in his career that John Shorthouse will call Canucks games in the Stanley Cup Playoffs on TV.
"John Shorthouse will be calling #Canucks playoff games on TV for the first time in his career. The winners, all of us who get to listen."
On the radio, Sportsnet 650, Brendan Batchelor and Jandip Janda will call the games, while Dan Riccio and Satiar Shah will cover the pre-game with former Canuck Jannik Hansen. Shah, Bik Nizzar and former NHLer Brett Festerling will be on the post-game show.
"Nashville Predators vs. Vancouver Canucks John Shorthouse and Dave Tomlinson team up in the booth, while Dan Murphy reports rink side." Sportsnet said.
They added, Vancouver Canucks Radio Brendan Batchelor and Randip Janda have the play-by-play call for all Vancouver Canucks games. Jannik Hansen joins Dan Riccio and Satiar Shah to cover pre-game while Shah, Bik Nizzar and former NHLer Brett Festerling provide post-game coverage on radio."
