Former Vancouver Canucks Prospect Involved in J.T. Miller Trade Signs Entry-Level Contract
A former Vancouver Canucks prospect is leaving college after three seasons and has put pen-to-paper on his entry-level contract over the weekend.
Dorrington, who saw his third season in the NCAA come to an end last week, had a big decision to make regarding his future - return for a fourth year in college or turn pro, and on Sunday, he made his mind up.

Yesterday in a post on their official website, the New York Rangers announced that they've agreed to terms on a three-year, entry-level contract worth $851,667 per season.
In addition to that, the Rangers shared that Dorrington has signed an amateur tryout contract (ATO) with their American Hockey League affiliate, the Hartford Wolf Pack, for the rest of the 2024-25 campaign.
"New York Rangers President and General Manager Chris Drury announced today that the team has agreed to terms with defenseman Jackson Dorrington on a three-year, entry-level contract. Dorrington will report to the Hartford Wolf Pack on an amateur tryout (ATO) for the remainder of this season." the Rangers said in a statement.
"UPDATE: The Hartford Wolf Pack have signed defenseman Jackson Dorrington to an Amateur Tryout Agreement (ATO)." the Wolf Pack said on X.
Dorrington, 21, was selected in the sixth round, 176th overall by the Vancouver Canucks in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft after spending that season with the USHL's Des Moines Buccaneers.
In 37 games this season for Northeastern University, the Manchester, New Hampshire native put up 15 points (two goals, 13 assists), 20 penalty minutes and was a minus-two.
Dorrington could make his professional hockey debut on Wednesday night as the Hartford Wolf Pack begin a five-game road trip against the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins.
